Commuting By Bike Saves Time & Money

One of the best ways I've found to get my miles in and save gas money is to commute by bike to work.

Few things are better than jumping on my Trek Madone and turning the pedals in the mornin' .

It's 20-25 miles each way depending on the route I take , which usually is dictated by how I feel that a day.

In reality it only takes me about 10-15 minutes longer on the bike due to traffic ect. I hit in the car.

Getting to work knowing I've got my workout in for the day is a great feeling. Not having a shower is a bummer but I have a neat little spray on cleaner that I use which leaves you feeling fresh and clean while not smelling too bad as well haha.

It is very easy to make excuses to yourself why you should drive in on any given day but once you get that bike rolling you wonder why the thought of driving even crossed your mind.

Usually I put the hammer down heading in and cruise it on the way home knowing that breakfast awaits when I get to store so there's extra motivation ! Egg and cheese bagel sandwiches for the win !

One trick I've learned to save time and stress on my back is not having to carry a backpack , I leave a couple changes of work clothes and riding gear at work which I then take home with me and wash on the days I do end up driving in . I also have a spare set of sneakers which I leave at work as well . Not having 15-20 pounds of gear on your back makes the ride so much nicer !

Well , I better get ready to roll and get to work.  Keep on riding ...
